This is a very eye-opening discussion by the respected scholar Sayed Mohammed Baqir al Qazwini. Imam Sadiq’s (as) cry in this hadith is not described as simple tears but rather compared to the weeping of a mother for her child. The Imam (as) was aware over 1300 years ago that the era of the greater occultation (Ghaybatul Kobrah) would be filled with tribulations for both Imam Mahdi (atfs) as well as his followers. Additionally, Imam Sadiq (as) emphasized the importance of awaiting as he said  “ … During that time (the period of the occultation), await the advent (of the Imam) every morning and evening … ” Actively awaiting the Imam (atfs) every day allows us to build a relationship with him and helps us live a life of servitude and obedience to Allah. As is mentioned in Dua Nudba, the 12^th Imam (atfs) is the connector between the heavens and the earth. It is of the utmost importance especially during this time we await the Imam (atfs) daily as the world is filled with injustice, deceit, and indecency.
